Mitchell County Tourism is excited to announce the launch of the Discover Mitchell County Geotrail, a new geocaching experience that invites visitors to explore the hidden gems of our beautiful county. This self-guided trail features 12 unique locations, each showcasing a distinct aspect of Mitchell County’s history, culture, and natural beauty.
The Discover Mitchell County Geotrail is designed for outdoor enthusiasts and curious explorers alike. Geocachers will embark on an adventure to discover these hidden treasures, getting stamps to complete their geotrail passport. To make it even more rewarding, participants who complete 10 out of the 12 caches will receive a prize from Mitchell County Tourism!

But what is geocaching? Geocaching is a real-world treasure hunting game where players use GPS-enabled devices to search for and find hidden containers called “geocaches” or “caches.” To get started, simply download the free geocaching app, create an account, and search for the Discover Mitchell County Geotrail. From there, follow the GPS coordinates to each location, and start exploring!
