Services available are a spa shop, beauty shop, dollar store, construction contractors, photography & video business, mortuary, auto repair, bank, post office, library, and electric business. Lakeside Elementary School is located here, with a daycare and Preschool through 5th grades. Recreation also includes Lakeside Park with a 9-hole golf course located directly alongside the lake.
A farming community, located on US 24 HWY, Glen Elder is the home of Waconda Lake, Glen Elder State Park and the historical Waconda Mineral Springs Replica. Glen Elder offers multiple lodging opportunities, a regional communications company, vehicle repair company, and 100-car grain elevator. Enjoy the city’s original design of a town square surrounding the city’s shady Neff Park. Around the park, smaller businesses include a quick shop with hunting and fishing supplies, library, senior center, restaurant, bank, post office and American Legion.

Hunter is a small farming community located on HWY 181. A historical 1916 railroad town, services include a grain elevator, post office, café, community center, library, and fuel pumps. Multiple small lodges are located in Hunter and this rural area.

Visit the traditional main street with a grocery store, hardware, bank, café, museum, library, community center and other stores. A one-hundred-year-old private high school remains open here, as well as a community grade school, next to the city park and ball field. A large pheasant hunting lodge is located two miles south on HWY 181.
