All applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:

If you are not an alumni of a Mitchell County High School or Kansas Technical College:

• Currently living outside the 26-County Dane G Hansen Foundation service area –OR– Moved to Mitchell, Jewell, Osborne, Cloud, or Lincoln Counties in the last 6 months
• You were NOT employed full-time in Mitchell County prior to May 3, 2026
• At this time, we are requiring residency in Mitchell, Jewell, Osborne, Cloud, or Lincoln County
• Make at least $15.62/hour or $32,500 annually, but no more than $35.00/hour or $72,800 annually
• Accept a full-time job (FT hours may vary depending on employer)

If you are an alumni of any Mitchell County High School or Kansas Technical College:

• Not currently employed full-time in Mitchell County
• At this time, we are requiring residency in Mitchell, Jewell, Osborne, Cloud, or Lincoln County
• Make at least $15.62/hour or $32,500 annually, but no more than $35.00/hour or $72,800 annually
• Accept a full-time job (FT hours may vary depending on employer)

Additional Requirements for Funding:

• Provide legal proof of residency
• Provide a letter from your future employer with your start date and hourly rate or salary
• All applicants must commit to 2-years of employment and enter into a “Retention Bonus Agreement” between the applicant, the employer, and Discover Mitchell County, Inc.
• It is preferred to have all retention bonuses paid out by the employer. Bonuses are subject to withholding for taxes and other lawful deductions.
• Employer must be willing to participate in the program.
• Applications will be reviewed by the Discover Mitchell County Economic Development committee for approval on the 4th Monday of each month.
• Total funding available is unknown. At this time, we have $20,000 in funding; however, additional funding can be secured by Discover Mitchell County.
