Discover Mitchell County is excited to launch a photo contest dedicated to showing off Mitchell County. The last time a photo contest was held was over 5 years ago, so we are overdue for updated pictures to use for marketing and more!

We are looking for photos in 5 categories:

• Recreation: Sports, hunting, boating, biking, fishing and other adventures!
• Arts & Culture: Murals, music, art projects, festivals, concerts, events, local traditions and more!
• Landscapes & Architecture: Scenic views, animals, buildings, sunsets, nature, beautiful places, and more!
• Faces of Mitchell County: People, community gatherings, portraits, smiling faces, and more!
• Small-Town Charm: The everyday moments, places, amenities, and interactions that make rural Mitchell County great!

Photos can be submitted utilizing the entry form at the bottom of this page. We would love to see photos from all seasons and photos from Mitchell County events! We cannot wait to see your pictures!

A few examples of photographs in each category…

General Guidelines:

• You can submit up to 15 photos total. Please only upload each photo once – pick whatever category you think is most fitting!
• If possible, save your photos using your first initial and last name and photo number when submitting (i.e. EBenedick1, EBenedick 2, etc)
• One photo in each category will be chosen as the winner by a committee. The photographers will remain anonymous. Each winner will receive a $25 Discover Mitchell County gift card.
• The five top photos will then be put on Facebook for a public vote of “Best in Show”! “Best in Show” will win an additional $25 gift card.

All entries are due by 5pm on August 1st, 2026
