The Solomon Valley Farmer’s Market will be held at the Lil’ Red Schoolhouse Roadside Park on Wednesdays from 4-6 pm from Memorial Weekend to Labor Day Weekend.

The Lil' Red Schoolhouse will be open during the Farmer's Market throughout the summer. Walk through to see a replica of a one-room schoolhouse from the early 1900's. A volunteer will be present to help answer questions. Tourism brochures and magazines are available for the taking.

The public is invited to walk around the area schools and do a prayer walk together before the school year starts, on Wednesday, August 12. Beloit Elementary, 5:15 pm BJSHS, 6:30 pm Fort Hays Tech 7:45 pm

The Beloit Senior Center will have free blood pressure checks on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays in August, 10:45-11:15 am.

Bingo will be held at the Beloit Senior Center on Thursday, August 13 from 2-4 pm. This is free, but space is limited. Call Debbie at 738-5802 or beloitseniorcenter@gmail.com. Donations accepted and refreshments will be served.

A Rangeland Management/Prescribed Fire Workshop will be held on Friday, August 14 from 8:30 am to 4 pm at 1399 Leann Ln in Asherville. Class is free but space is limited and those interested must sign up by calling the Mitchell County Conservation District at 785-738-5172 X3.

Last race at the Mitchell County Fairgrounds for the summer! Friday, August 14, 7 pm. Stock cars, sport modifieds, hobby stocks, crown vic's, 2-person cruiser, mini/compact. $50 tow money.  $15 admission, $30 pit passes, $50 car registration.

Cawker City's Twine-a-thon will be Friday, August 14 and Saturday, August 15. On Friday, enjoy live music, golf cart dice run, and food trucks on Friday 7-9 pm. On Saturday will be a fun run, vintage car poker run, food trucks, watermelon feed, kids games, and a parade starting at 6:30 pm.

The Cawker City Fitness Center will hold a 3 mile walk/run and 5 mile run on Saturday, August 15 at 8 am. All proceeds will support the fitness center.

All motorcycles, cars, and trucks join us at the Cawker City Picnic Aug 15th. Start at the Ball of Twine at 8 am with an 8:30 am start. 1 hand is $20, 3 hands is $25. For more information contact Angie at 785-643-1534.
